We built this directory because we’ve lived the problem — the fragmented information, the back-and-forth with providers who can’t help you in the end, and the sheer loneliness of navigating life abroad without knowing who to trust.
Whether moving temporarily or permanently, we’re on a mission to make it easier for migrants to find services that actually serve them at every stage of their journey.
Why this directory exists
Migration advisory landscapes are fragmented
Useful information exists across local government websites, advisory platforms, and static arrival guides, but nobody brings it together in one easy-to-search place.
The middle stages get neglected
Most resources focus on arrival or departure, but migration doesn't stop there. Tax, insurance, family planning, career transitions — finding the right support for what comes next shouldn't require 40 hours of research.
Service listings lack the detail that matters
Even if you do find a provider, you're often met with a four-line description and a link to a website. No information about languages offered, service coverage, costs, or communication options. Comparing services shouldn't mean opening twenty tabs and reading between the lines — it should be as straightforward as choosing a hotel on a booking site.
Every service on MigrateSpace is assessed against a transparent, publicly available rubric
We don't sell placements and providers cannot pay to be listed or featured. Our criteria are factual and observable — we check what foreigners actually experience when trying to use a service to ensure what’s listed is genuinely helpful.
Core requirements
English-language service available, online or remote access option. These are the minimum requirements for any service listed on MigrateSpace.
Online appointment booking
Additionally to international ID and payment methods being accepted, we also look for pricing being published before first contact.
Self-serve guidance
This is especially key for newcomers — we search for FAQs, how-to guides, or document checklists tailored to people unfamiliar with local systems.
Multilingual support
Beyond English and the local language, we also inspect whether direct human support is being offered through real-time channels like WhatsApp or live chat.

Is MigrateSpace free?
Yes. MigrateSpace is completely free for anyone searching for services, and it always will be. We believe access to trusted information shouldn’t have a price tag, especially when you’re navigating an unfamiliar system in a new country.
How do you choose which services to list?
We assess services based on three things: relevance to the migration journey (does this service address a real need that newcomers face?), relevance to an international audience (is it useful for expats, migrants, international students, or secondment workers rather than only long-established fully-integrated residents?), and our migrant-friendly criteria (does the provider meet the accessibility standards we’ve published). We don’t list every business that applies — only those that genuinely serve people navigating life abroad.
Can I suggest a service?
Absolutely. If you’ve used a service that helped you as a migrant and think others would benefit from knowing about it, we’d love to hear from you. Submit a suggestion to hello@migratespace.com, and we’ll review it against our ‘migrant-friendly’ accessibility criteria.
Do you receive payment from listed services?
No service provider has paid to be listed on MigrateSpace, and no provider can pay to appear more prominently in the directory. If we introduce revenue in the future, it will come from optional functionality — tools that help providers manage their profiles more effectively. The integrity of the directory is the whole point.
What if my service is listed but the information is incorrect?
Get in touch at hello@migratespace.com and we’ll correct it. If your business has changed what it offers, moved location, or is no longer operating, let us know and we’ll update or remove the listing entirely. We’d rather have fewer accurate listings than a large directory full of outdated information.
Are you available outside Germany?
Not yet. We’re based in Germany and know this immigration landscape well — the bureaucracy, the language barriers, the specific challenges migrants face here — so it made sense to start where we could be most useful and accurate. If we see demand, we’ll expand to more territories. Because quality matters more than coverage, it’s unlikely we’ll become global. Verifying services, maintaining accurate listings, and ensuring our migrant-friendly criteria holds up takes real effort. MigrateSpace is currently self-funded by a small group of migrants building for migrants, and we’d rather do one country well than ten countries badly.
